It is Surprisingly larger than most visitors imagine  The largest collection of its kind!  Montacute TV  Radio & Toy Museum has probably the largest collection of its kind open to the public in the UK. This fascinating family attraction is filled with thousands of toys, books, games, and memorabilia related to TV and radio programmes. With over 500 vintage and novelty radios & a collection of televisions.  It is situated in the picturesque village of Montacute used in the filming of Jane Austen’s ‘Sense and Sensibility’. 
Featured on TV and Radio. The museum itself has featured on Channel 4’s ‘Collectors Lot’, the BBC’s ‘Antique Inspectors’, HTV’s ‘The Antiques Trail’ and on radio Somerset Sound’s ‘Breakfast with Burgess’. Items from the museum have appeared on BBC's Antiques Roadshow, BBC's I Love the 70's & 80's series, and Richard & Judy.

EXHIBITIONS 2010

Sat 4th & Sun 5th Sept Dr Who's Question Time   Come & Meet The Doctors Special visitors will be at the museum. Come & ask them questions about anything Dr Who that you always wanted to know

Weekdays & Saturdays 11am-5pm, Sundays 12noon-5pm
Bank Holiday Sundays & Mondays 11am- 5pm

From 1st September Open Wednesday to Saturday 11am to 5am and
Sundays 12noon to 5pm 
 
*there may be exceptions please check prior to your visit particularly if travelling a long distance.

Group Visits 

We welcome groups to the museum, shop and lunch/tea rooms at anytime by arrangement 
(max 50). New from 2007 our tea/lunch rooms has a spacious light and airy conservatory.
 We can comfortably accomodate up to 50 people inside, plus we have seating in the sheltered walled garden. Lunches and teas including cream teas are available.
Easy access from A303 and near to Yeovil . Coach parking is possible in front of the museum

Other places of interest in the village

Combine your visit to the museum by visiting other places of interest in the historic village. These include: the church dating back to the 12th century; the gatehouse and the monk's trout pond - all that remains of the abbey destroyed in the reign of Henry VIII; Montacute House (NT); woodland walks including Ladies Walk and St Michaels Hill and Tower, the site of a Norman motte and bailey earthworks.
