Enter the spooky time warp at Montacute TV Radio Toy Museum during half term for a week of terrifyingly good fun. Venture through creepy cobwebbed corridors with spooky monsters and scary creatures entwined with Doctor Who and Superheroes. 
Escape the gloved hand of Freddy Krueger and the wroth of Frankenstein's monster
Encounter monsters and aliens from Dr Who. Sneak past the scary Daleks led by Dalek Sec and Davros. Beware the metal Cybermen. Don’t look at the Weeping Angels to avoid being turned to stone or let the Empty Child touch you!  Avoid being taken in by the Clockwork men or being creeped out by the Oods.  Evade capture by a Pig Slave or being bitten by the Werewolf!  Which one will you find the scariest?
Don’t worry, two of the Doctors David Tenant Peter Capaldi are amongst them to protect you with all the other Doctors in the Tardis. Backed up the Super-Heros here to save you!  Which of your favourites will it be, Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder woman, Spider-man or the Power Rangers?

Visit Montacute TV Radio Toy Museum this February Half Term with fun for all the family. Walk back in time from the birth of TV and radio to the modern day, the museum is like a Tardis, opening up inside to reveal an unexpectedly immense number of displays, probably the largest collection of toys, books, annuals, jigsaws and games related to TV and radio programmes. A trip out which 3 generations of one family can enjoy and share memories together.
This week take part in our SPECIAL HALF TERM MUSEUM QUIZ and test your knowledge on popular culture, all entries will be put into a prize draw at the end of the week!

Our Tearooms will also be open this week serving organic coffee, deliciously local lunches, homemade cakes and traditional cream teas. You could even treat yourself and share a popular afternoon tea on an impressive 3 tier stand with friends or family.

Our shop will also be open selling unusual, nostalgic, retro, children’s, Doctor Who gifts and mainly items related to TV and radio programmes, old and new, a real treasure trove of goodies!

JOB VACANCIES (Job 1) 
Job Title
Catering & Hospitality positions in Food Preparation & Customer Service, biased toward food preparation.
 
Our Organisation
We are a unique tourist attraction with tea/lunch rooms, gift shop and an attached B&B. We serve home made and local produce. 
We are situated in the picturesque village of Montacute   
 
Role in structure
We have 2 vacancies. You will be able to carry out a range of roles within each job.  
 
Outline of job role (Job 1)
You would be responsible for food preparation  & service. 
You would prepare & serve the food for salads, toasted sandwiches, ploughman's, quiches, cream teas etc Ideally you would also be able to make cakes, & possibly quiches. You would keep the workplace clean & tidy including using the dishwasher. You may also serve customers. 
Ideally you would be an all rounder and also able to act as front of house for the museum and shop where you would greet customers and use the till & card processing machine. You would make drinks and serve food to customers, clear tables, keep the workplace clean & tidy  & use the dishwasher.
On occasions you may be required to clean the B&B rooms
Able to occasionally cover breakfast for our B&B and prepare, cook & serve breakfast for up to 6 people
 
Candidate Profile
You should be enthusiastic, motivated, and reliable, be able to prioritise & organise tasks without supervision, be able to cope well under pressure in busy situations, have good customer service skills. You should have some catering experience and   have a hygiene certificate or be prepared to acquire one. Ideally you should also have experience of using a till & card processing machine. 
 
This is a part time job from the start of the Easter school holidays until the beginning of November.
You should be available to work on Saturdays (between 10.30 & 5-5.15) and Sundays (between 11.30 & 5-5.15).
Ideally you should also be available to work some days in the week, days/times to be discussed. This could be similar to Saturday hours or from 12noon to 3pm or as required including bank holidays

OPEN FROM 1ST APRIL-1ST NOVEMBER

New for 2015 is our Superheroand sci-fi exhibition where you will see a wealth of your favourite life size superheroes SUPERMAN - SPIDERMAN - WONDER WOMAN - BATMAN AND ROBIN in the batcave with THE JOKER and CAT WOMAN.

As well as
MANDALORIANS From Star Wars. From Star Trek  the iconic CAPTAIN JEAN-LUC PICARD and SPOCK, a klingon from the planet Qo'noS. Lieutenant Commander DATA, cheif operations officer aboard the Starship USS Enterprise.
From the TV series 'V'  an alien visitor, outwardly human but lizard like underneath. See super sleek CYCLONS from Battlestar Galactica and other screen used uniforms from the series and Babylon 5.

Along with two original chairs from Harry Hill's TV Burp spoof of The Voice.

Halloween Spooktacular!

Come to Montacute TV Radio Toy Museum over October half term for some terrifyingly good fun. Venture through creepy cobwebbed corridors to find spooky monsters, scary creatures and lots of eerie goings on. Prepare to be afraid with Skeletons, Zombies, Vampires, Witches, and other frightening creatures from the underworld to scare and surprise you.

Join in the party with Jack the Ripper and Freddy Krueger!

As always you will find something new and different at this very popular annual event.

All this as well as the huge nostalgic collection related to your favourite TV programmes will make it a great week to visit the TV Radio Toy Museum. With sections on children’s programmes, soaps, westerns, comedy, super hero’s, sci-fi who full size Dr Who characters including Daleks, Cybermen, Clockworkman, Werewolf, Scarecrow, Davros and much more. There is something to interest all generations from young children to great grandparents.

Enjoy Lunch, Tea or a Snack in our conservatory café where you can try some tasty ghoulish goodies from the Halloween menu such as Bat Butties, Witches Fingers or Vampire Juice. 

Also remember to stock up early on your Christmas presents before the museum shop closes for the season on the 2nd November. Lots of unusual, nostalgic, retro, children’s and Dr Who gifts.
